Our story
Built to take the guesswork out of workplace decisions
We want workplaces to be places that work, not just places of work.
Workplaced started with a relocation project that rested on guesswork, and grew into a company when three people saw the same problem from three sides: entrepreneurship, academia and consultancy practice.

Where it started
A relocation project, and a lot of guesswork
Adel was doing his master's in property, and Nick taught the corporate real estate asset management part of the course. The course project was a company relocation.
Coming from real estate, PropTech and innovation, Adel saw how much of that decision rested on guesswork and assumptions.
Workplace decisions can't rely on siloed tools and assumptions. They need to be data-driven.
Joining forces
From a course project to a company
Adel suggested to Nick that they join forces: streamline the workplace strategy process, and build a model that answers the industry's questions with data instead of assumptions.
Nick brought more than 30 years of research and workplace consultancy, and the books the field teaches from. He introduced Adel to Asaël, who was meeting the same problem in his own consultancy practice. Asaël joined as an advisor, and soon after joined fully.
A deliberate choice
We build the platform. Partners give the advice.
We could have been a consultancy that happens to own software: run the study, explain the results, then sell the next study. Plenty of firms in this field work that way, and we understand why.
We chose not to. When the people who measure your workplace also sell you the redesign, you can't tell where the evidence stops and the pitch starts. So we stay with the platform, and the advice comes from partners who know your sector and your buildings.
What we do
- Build and run the platform
- Get it live with you
What our partners do
- Advise on the decision
- Write the space programme
- Deliver the fit-out
- Lead the change with your people
Our numbers should hold up when someone else checks them. That only works if we aren't the ones selling what comes next.

What we stand for
Live in the future
Most of the industry still decides on instinct. We built the instruments to decide on evidence instead, and we use them ourselves.
Unleash human potential
People do the work. The workplace and the technology around them exist to make that work easier, not to replace the judgement behind it.
Explainable by design
Every result names the instrument it rests on and which step is Workplaced's own, so it can be checked rather than taken on trust.
Ever evolving
The workforce measured in 2001 is not the workforce of today. The method keeps being tested against real buildings because the answer keeps moving.
Ask us something specific
A tender question, a security questionnaire, or the one thing on this site you do not believe. Whoever answers has run the studies.
